The spring is all around! And you have not heard from our team since January? What has happened?

Our team has been so busy with coding that we have even decided to temporarily change the formats of our newsletters - from fancy HTML to text only. Because before New Year we have promised you to amaze you with new releases :) And we keep our promises.

We have just released Langmates - first ever social network for translators. It is online now after 5 years since its conception (2 and a half in the strict sense if we take into account 2 years of this project being frozen and 6 months of code being thrown away after we have found better platform for its development).

What it's all about? It is about individual expression, new friends and colleagues, sharing thoughts and experiences. Yes, there are translation portals available here and there. They have played their important part in the history of translation industry. But they are aggregations of the old means of communication - groups, job boards, etc.

Langmates is a social network. And it is about people. You see people on the first page, and you see smiling people on the photographs, and read what people think. You can easily connect with other people, comment on their profiles and blogs. We will roll out more features in the coming months but the basis is important. And the basis are great people like you.

The spring is a time of birth and development. Langmates has been released on the 3.03.2010. The number 3 is very lucky in the Western culture. In the Chinese culture the number 3 is sounds similar to the character for "birth".
